We work in many different industries for small and large businesses, so we understand the hugely important role that processes play in your success. To put it bluntly, it’s process that runs your business, whether operations or support focused.
Short and sweet or long and complicated, processes all have one thing in common – they’re built on a step-by-step principle. That’s where they either enlighten or bewilder. We’re on the side of enlightenment, designing processes that achieve what they set out to do. And making it a satisfying experience for everyone using these processes.
We’re mindful of the fact that processes can be very personal to their creators. In fact, this sense of ‘ownership’ is really important so we encourage it. It’s one of the reasons why we’re so successful at what we do. So, if your processes are:

WJL guide to process mapping
A process map (also known as a flowchart) is the basic framework of one or more processes in your business. It shows, as a visual representation, the relationship between each step, and where decisions are required along the way. Process maps are great planning tools because you can see, at a glance, the flow of work as a series of events that produce (or not) an end result.
WJL uses flowcharts and process maps to:
- Provide effective visual communication of ideas, information and data
- Help with problem solving and decision making
- Identify problems and possible solutions
- As a training tool on how a process is broken down into steps
- Show detailed connections and sequences
- Clearly document an entire process, from start to finish

Process mapping encourages people to work together and continuously improve. They have ownership of the process and, therefore, are motivated to use it!
